Malaysia, Brunei industry officials discuss trade, cooperatives

The Acting Minister of Industry and Primary Resources, Dato Paduka Awg Hj Hamdillah bin Hj Abdul Wahab, yesterday morning received a courtesy call from a five-member Malaysian delegation led by Dato’ Sri Ismail bin Yaakob, Malaysia’s Minister of Home Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism, according to a press release from the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources.

In addition to bolstering bilateral trade relations, the courtesy call opened the opportunity for the exchange of experiences on developing areas in the cooperatives sector in both countries.

The acting minister during the meeting talked about on-going projects like the Heart of Borneo (HoB) initiatives, potential areas of development in Borneo Eco-Tourism packages, currently a work-in-progress project with Tourism Malaysia, Brunei’s rich coral reefs and the Brunei Halal brand.
