Brunei: Bureau Veritas organises Halal Seminar

Bandar Seri Begawan – It was full house at Orchid Garden Hotel when Bureau Veritas, the world’s second largest group in conformity assessment and certification services, organised a halal seminar on Thursday.

Participants, especially those from the food industry, flocked to hear from expert speakers subjects put together by Bureau Veritas – a leader in the fields of quality, health and safety, environment, and social responsibility – and ask questions.

The Inaugural Brunei Food Safety Seminar 2011 was organised by Bureau Veritas Brunei and Syariah Affairs Department through the Halal Food Control Section.

It aimed to expose the general public and owner of companies to food security.

Among the goals of this programme were to promote awareness and provide knowledge about food safety Management system.

Guidelines issued by the World Health Organisation and Food and Drugs Administration were highlighted in the seminar.

“Through this seminar the participants will get to know more about ISO certification such as ISO 22000, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Hazards Analysis and Crictical Control Point (HACCP),” stated Dr Hj Kamaruddin Dato Seri Paduka Haji Talib, Bureau Veritas Brunei Chairman/ Director. — A Brudirect Report
