Enhance Commercial Relations With Bosnia, Says Mahathir

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 11 (Bernama) — Malaysia should
establish good commercial relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina in
order to use the contacts they have in Eastern Europe.

Suggesting this, former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad
said Malaysia should be a foreign partner to Bosnia as there are many
opportunities in the economic region of Eastern Europe.

He said this in a statment after the conclusion of the “Malaysia
Global Business Forum — Bosnia” held in Kuching today. Also present at
the event was Bosnia and Herzegovina President Dr Haris Silajdzic.

Dr Mahathir said the conference was timely, adding that Sarawak is
the most strategic location as it is keen to play a role in trade
development.

Dr Silajdzic thanked the Sarawak for hosting the conference,
saying that he would be bringing valuable economic ideas from Dr
Mahathir back to his country.

“In the forum, real business has taken place, which takes the
relationship between the two countries to a new level of economic
diversity with education, energy, halal and tourism groups working
together,” he said.
