‘Experience Halaal’ showcase in Cape Town in May

Experience Halaal showcase at CTICC in May

The only dedicated halaal food, beverage and lifestyle show event of
the year is preparing for its inaugural outing at the Cape Town
International Convention Centre from 28 – 31 May.

The Experience Halaal
showcase is incorporated in the Winter Cape Gourmet Festival and will
host halaal food and beverage retailers and manufacturers, “with the
common objective of sampling, selling and brand building to a targeted
audience, which crosses all religious groups”. In addition, halaal
non-food exhibitors including lifestyle, Islamic cultural authorities
and hotels will be invited to exhibit.

“We have included two theatre areas, one for food demonstrations, the
other will be dedicated to fashion and lifestyle, incorporating
workshops designed to facilitate the exchange of ideas, issues and
possible misconceptions regarding the Islamic lifestyle,” said Nazreen
Salie of Cape Malay Consultants who is jointly organising the show with
Empowered Investments, managed by the South African Gourmet Festival.

“We are confident this niche market exhibition will increase the
awareness of the meaning of halaal and the principles of Islamic
lifestyle, attract targeted consumers and halaal industry players from
the South African and international markets, with all the leading
manufacturers and retailers coming together.”

She said the event allows consumers and the industry to “get involved,
shop, sample, stimulate their senses and fuel their imaginations”. “In
short, it is the best of local and international halaal cuisine and
Islamic lifestyle.

Experience Halaal
is the only dedicated halaal food, beverage and lifestyle exhibition
event of the year, where Halaal products and services will be profiled
to a targeted audience, expanding their reach and market share.”

Salie said exhibitors who sign up for Experience Halaal
will become part of a “dynamic, interactive forum unlike anything else
in South Africa. The show is more than a marketing tool. It will become
a highlight event on the halaal food, beverage and lifestyle calendar.

This is the first of its kind and will allow exhibitors to meet
customers fact to fact, improve relationships with halaal retailers and
industry buyers, retail to an audience who are ready to spend, launch
new Halaal products and test the market, build a new halaal customer
base, sample your products to a targeted audience in a non-threatening
environment, educate customers on the meaning of halaal.”

Space are available at R1,600/sqm for space only, but a stand package
can be bought at R1950/sqm. “Besides being able to demonstrate at their
own stands, exhibitors will have an opportunity to demonstrate and
promote their products in one of the stage areas.

The Halaal Food and
Beverage Theatre will play host to chefs, food writers and food
personalities who will share their skills and experiences, showcasing
the best of halaal cuisine. In addition, the Entertainment and Fashion
Cultural Stage will showcase the latest in fashion and lifestyle
trends, as well as giving local artists an opportunity to show off
their talents,” Salie said.

Products showcased include everything from halaal organic products, raw
materials, food chemicals, emulsifiers and ingredients to seafood,
grocery, chocolate, dairy to herbal products. Non-food products include
perfumery, toiletries, leather, halaal related logistics providers, IT
support and Islamic travel agents.

Services that will be showcased
include abattoirs, hotel, restaurants, catering, Islamic investment and
finance, among others. “From 28 – 31 May the Experience Halaal
food, beverage and lifestyle expo at the CTICC is a must visit for
manufacturers, importers and exporters, distributors and wholesalers,
even investors and halaal certifying bodies.
