GCC, Asean ministers to discuss co-operation

Foreign ministers of the GCC and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) regions will meet for the first time in

embassy official said.

Thai
Foreign Minister and chairman of Asean Kasit Piromya will co-chair the
meeting with Bahraini Foreign Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin
Mohamed al-Khalifah.


The
meeting will discuss GCC-Asean co-operation in trade, investment,
intellectual property rights, energy security, food security,
agriculture, transportation, tourism, the environment and other areas.




Thailand
and

Bahrain

will also jointly organise an exhibition of halal food products. The
Thai halal exhibition will run from June 30 to July 1 at the
Ritz-Carlton Bahrain Hotel and Spa.
