Halal dishes
excluding animal fats, will appear in canteens and cafes in all Moscow
higher educational institutions and hostels, by order of Mayor Yuri
Luzhkov, from 1 January 2010. Thus the city authorities want to help
students in need of therapeutic feeding, wrote the youth magazine
“Campus”. In addition, these dishes are halal, meaning they are allowed
to eat the Muslims.

To date, among Moscow students and graduate students, there are
about 300 thousand Muslims. Often, they do not create any conditions,
and in order to have a meal or a time to pray, students must miss
classes even.

At some universities, the Muslims offered prayers to dead ends or
corners of the corridors. Students are grateful even for this,
considering such proposals as a step toward the part of university
leadership.
