Jakarta (ANTARA) – Vice President Ma’ruf Amin has asked the Religious Affairs Ministry’s Halal Certification Agency (BPJPH) to synergize with ministries and non-ministerial agencies to accelerate the implementation of the Halal Product Assurance System (SJPH) for MSMEs.
“I ask BPJPH to synergize with 12 existing stakeholders to bolster the implementation of the Halal Product Assurance for MSMEs,” he said at a virtual event on developing MSMEs in the halal industry, organized by the National Committee for Sharia Economy and Finance (KNEKS), here on Wednesday.
Halal certification to MSMEs can give a quality advantage to halal products traded in the domestic and international markets, the Vice President said.
“Especially for the export market, BPJPH through the KNEKS’ Executive Management’s facilitation is expected to synergize with the Trade Ministry in an effort to enhance the export of halal products,” he explained.
Amin also said he hoped that MSME players can get coaching so that they have the competence to utilize SJPH in their business activities.
Earlier, BPJPH had affirmed that the agency will create ratification by adapting the existing Halal Assurance System (SJH) to form the SJPH.
In a statement on the kemenag.go.id webpage, BPJPH’s acting Head Mastuki stated that the ratification of SJH into a new legal product of SJPH will be used as a guideline to accelerate halal product assurance services in Indonesia.
“BPJPH together with related parties conducted a study of SJPH so that it is in accordance with the latest halal regulatory conditions, which are the halal standards and halal issues at the national and global levels,” he added.
“Instead of BPJPH re-arranging a new SJH which takes a long time and lengthy discussions with many institutions, then why not just adopt the already existing SJH? That is the reason,” Mastuki remarked.
