Americana’ hits Guinness with 3 new records in food products

KUWAIT
CITY, May 30: The Kuwait Food Company ‘Americana’, the largest food
company in the Middle East, entered the Guinness Book of Records with
three new records, making Americana the first company in the Middle
East to achieve this feat in the food sector, particularly in the
catering sector on a global level.

The three categories are — the
largest fried chicken meal in the world from Kentucky, the largest
Donuts box from Krispy Creme, and the longest burger line from Hardees
in a Kuwait-Towers-like display. More than 500 workers from the
experience of the Kuwait Food Company (Americana) contributed to the
achievement. All the food at the event which took place at the Salwa
Al-Sabah Hotel in Salmiya was donated to charitable institutions.

In a press conference attended by senior economic
personalities, news agencies and satellite channels, Marzouk Nasser
Al-Kharafi, chairman and managing director of the Kuwait Food Company
‘Americana’, uncovered the details of the world records achieved by the
company. He assured this will make it a distinct name in the global
food industry and crown more than half a century of the company’s
excellence in the Middle East.

“One of the three ‘Guinness’ records
that was registered is the biggest ever designed basket of ‘Kentucky’
fried chicken in the world. It weighed 480 kilos, breaking the previous
world record of 300 kilos and had inside it 5,400 pieces of KFC
chicken,” Al Kharafi explained in the presence of the representative of
Guinness encyclopedia, Talal Omar Al-Qadi.

The other two records which are unprecedented and
never tried before — are the largest Donuts box (5.90 meters in height
and 4.10 meters in width) from Krispy Creme which contained 2,700
pieces of Donuts and the longest Kuwait-Towers-like burger line from
Hardees. The line was 306 meters in length and consisted of 2,500
Hardees burgers. Al-Kharafi noted that the two new records to be
registered in Guinness reward “Americana” with new standard marks, and
that they will be the focus of attention of associated companies in the
global food activity. He said that this triple achievement of
‘Americana’ is seen as a quality leap from being the strongest food
brand in the Middle East, making it a world-wide name with distinction,
particularly that it is classified as one of the most successful
companies in the recording of the privileges and franchises.

The number of workers who have contributed to the
registration of ‘Americana’ in ‘Guinness’ and achieved the three
records were more than 500 locally experienced workers. More than 200
of them participated in the Kentucky Basket, and more than 200 workers
took part in creating the Burger Line from Hardees, in addition to more
than 100 workers who contributed in the donuts Box from Krispy Creme.
Al-Kharafi said that “Americana” was able to provide added value to the
Kuwaiti market by scoring these three world records through the
initiative and the primacy in entering Kuwait to Guinness Book of
Records through the three new figures allocated to the restaurants
category.

He added that the efforts exerted by ‘Americana’ to
push world markets towards new records are considered as a direct
support from the company for the State of Kuwait and the local market,
opening new horizons, and supporting the Kuwaiti companies in spreading
globally. As part of its continuing social contribution, Al-Kharafi
noted that the food used in participating at the competition will be
donated to the Ministry of Social Affairs and the charitable
institutions. Americana was built by Arab employees and reached out to
globalism through its high quality products offered at all its outlets
and branches. All the company’s products comply with the Islamic Sharia
(100% Halal).
