Malaysia: MACS Becomes The First GLC To Receive Sirims QMS From Islamic Perspective

SEPANG, March 26 (Bernama) — Malaysia Airport Consultancy Service (MACS), a Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad subsidiary, has become the first government-linked company (GLC) to receive the MS1900:2005 certified by QAS International based on Quality Management System from the Islamic Perspective.

Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad chief operating officer, Datuk Abd Hamid Mohd Ali said the certification endorsed MACS for having complied with the halal requirements in accordance with the Islamic Shariah.

“Malaysia Airports is proud to be recognized as one of the certified organizations that provides comprehensive solutions to the clients guided by Islamic principles.

“The certification is a testimonial of our commitment in providing the highest quality, best practices and consistency in our diversified service on an international level,” said Abd Hamid after receiving the accreditation from Acting President and Chief Executive of SIRIM Dr Zainal Abidin Mohd Yusof, here Monday.

He said the recognition was a continuation of a series of excellence that had been achieved by MACS after the accreditation of its previous ISO9001:2008 certification in 2010.
