SERDANG: Beginning today, consumers can now obtain halal beef products of the highest quality online.

Real Food Company Sdn Bhd (RFC) has set up a one-stop centre for consumers to order premium Gemas Gold Meat (GGM) beef brand online.

Deputy Agriculture and Agro-Based Industries Minister Chua Tee Yong, who launched the website www.gemasgold.com.my at the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agro-Tourism (MAHA) Expo this morning, was happy to note that a leading local beef producer was utilising technology to reach out to domestic and international consumers.

It is beneficial for Malaysian companies to promote their products not only towards the local market, Chua said, but also towards consumers worldwide.

“The Ministry is pleased Malaysia’s halal premium beef brand – Gemas Gold Meat – is being promoted this way,” he said, adding that it would also increase sales as well as the profile of farmers in general.

RFC chief executive officer Wan Izzana Salleh, said the website not only featured information on GGM products, ranging from burgers, beef jerkies, sausages, pastramis, salamis and corned beef, it also contains informative pages explaining the rearing and production processes of GGM.

She said customers can rest assured of the quality as GGM beef is sourced from the world’s best livestock, reared carefully in Gemas, Negri Sembilan.

GGM carries the Veterinary Health Mark and Halal certification, Wan Izzana assured.

She said the website also explains each beef cut available in the market and practical beef preparation tips.

“The website also serve as a convenient channel for buyers and meat traders to obtain beef from us without having to go through the middle man,” she said.

GGM products are also currently available in over 60 outlets of leading supermarkets nationwide including, Carrefour, Cold Storage, Giant, Jusco and Meatworks outlet in Solaris Mont Kiara.
