Pakistan: HAP incorporated in SECP

Pakistan FlagKARACHI: Halal Products and Services Association of Pakistan (HAP) has been incorporated in the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) under the Companies Ordinance, a statement said on Tuesday.

HAP mission is to make Halal industry a multibillion dollars export sector in Pakistan and establish Pakistan as the regional halal hub, it said.

A spokesperson for the HAP said that it will cater to all types of its member companies, including halal consumables; (food, confectionary, dairy, agro, ingredients, additives, supplements, beverages) and non-consumables; (pharmaceuticals, neutraceuticals, cosmetics, personal care, herbal, soaps, leather, leather products, animal feed, as well as services such as Islamic banking, takaful, supply chain, hospitality, tourism, food services, certification, testing, consultants, Shariah advisers, facilitators, etc.

HAP has welcomed all the Pakistani companies, institutions and organisations to become its member and play an active role to explore opportunities in more than two trillion dollars global Halal market.

It will also project Pakistan as the regional hub of Halal products for international buyers, the spokesperson added.
