Pakistan to strengthen cooperation with Malaysia in Halal food sector

ISLAMABAD, Oct 30 (APP):
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi will focus on forging concrete ties with
Malaysia in Halal food sector during his stay in Kuala Lumpur from November 1-4
to attend 12th session of D-8 Council of Ministers.High Commissioner
for Pakistan in Malaysia Lt General (Retd) Tahir Mahmood Qazi said the Foreign
Minister will be meeting with Malaysian Minister of International Trade and
Industry and Agriculture to work out substantive and mutually beneficial course
of action in this import consumer sector.


Tahir Qazi said the focus of
the Foreign Minister on Halal food sector is also in line with the D-8
Ministerial session which inter-alia will adopt the reports on Kuala Lumpur’s
initiative to address the food security in D-8 countries.

Tahir Qazi said the business
delegation accompanying the Foreign Minister will also hold separate meetings
with the relevant Malaysian entities and official organization.

The business delegation
accompanying the Foreign Minister comprises representatives from Ecommerce
Gateway Karachi, K&Ns Group, Zenith Associates, Al Shaheer Corporation, Shezan
Ltd, Shan Food Industries and Mitchell’s Pakistan.

The High Commissioner hoped
that these intensive meetings of the Foreign Minister assisted by the leaders of
the top most Pakistani companies involved in Halal business with their Malaysian
counterparts, will certainly usher in a new era of cooperation.
