Islamabad: The Embassy of the
Argentine Republic in Islamabad is promoting the technology transfer
between private companies of Argentina and Pakistan, following a model
already started with Venezuela.

This was stated by Eduardo Bustamante, Deputy Head of Mission embassy of Argentina, Wednesday.

The
Argentine Ambassador to Pakistan, Rodolfo Martin Saravia, has proposed
to the Chairman of Pakistan Council for Scientific and Industrial
Research (PCSIR) an international cooperation along similar lines and a
draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) is been studied by the proper
authorities.

As a first step, in October, two Argentine
companies will be visiting Punjab, and possibly Balochistan, to work on
the installation of brand new slaughterhouses (under Halal
certification), meat processing plants and fruit processing plants,
including a project for the apple production of Balochistan.

Last
month the port of Buenos Aires dispatched over 300 containers bound to
Caracas, Venezuela, containing equipment for the establishment of 31
new factories, in the fields of meat processing, cold chambers, fruit
and vegetable processing, engine manufacturing, transformation of tubes
alloys, and tools and machinery

provision. The new factories will be established with

the help of the National Institute for Industrial Technology.
