Astrakhan Region Of Russia Chamber Of Commerce Inks MOA With Malaysia- Russian Business Council

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 3 (Bernama) — The Chamber of Commerce
from the Astrakhan region of Russia has signed memoranda of agreement
(MoA) with the Malaysian-Russian Business Association and Malay Chamber
of Commerce Putrajaya branch.

The agreements were inked during the recent visit by the ministers
of the Astrakhan Region to Malaysia, the Malaysian-Russian Business
Association said in a statement.

The ministers were from the ministries of International and
Foreign Economic Relations, Economic Development, Transport, Tourism,
Industry and Natural Resources.

Astrakhan Deputy Minister of Economic Development Polyanskaya
explained to the Malaysian delegation on the region’s special tax and
property tax incentives, grants and state guarantees from the regional
government budget to investors investing in the region.

The Malaysian delegation was represented by members of the
Malaysian-Russian Business Association and the Putrajaya branch of the
Malay Chamber of Commerce.

As for possible joint-venture projects, the Governor of Astrakhan,
Alexander Zhilkin, said the prospective areas are opening of a regional
halal trade market for food and other products in Astrakhan, a
logistics hub and the first campus of a Malaysian University in Russia.
