Belgium creates ‘Halal Club’ in Malaysia

MIHAS-logo-125KUALA LUMPUR: The Kuala lumpur-based Belgian Trade Commission is focusing the spotlight on one peculiar creation from Brussels in conjunction with the 10th Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS 2013).

Created in 2011, the cluster “Halal Club” has had a steady development and a growing success.

The club, comprising some 75 Belgian companies, offers an impressive broad range of halal products and services.

Belgium is renowned throughout the business world for its know-how and its traditional drive towards exports.

Halal Club said it was founded to assist companies penetrate halal markets such as Malaysia.

“Coming from Europe, getting the right certification and the correct marketing approach to position a product is no easy matter.

“This is the opportune moment the club has been put in motion to help companies overcome these obstacles and to be present in the Malaysian market through experience, cooperation and joint presence at international events,” it said in a statement.

It said the club’s main objective was to provide “tools” to Belgian companies to export to global halal markets such as Malaysia.  — BERNAMA
