Brunei Halal brand, tourism industry and preferred list of industries promoted by the Sultanate were highlighted yesterday to Jerzy Wenderlich, Deputy Marshall of Sejm of the Republic of Poland and members of the Polish Parliament who visited the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources.

Present to deliver the presentation was the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources, Dato Paduka Dr Awg Hj Mohd Amin Liew Abdullah and Tourism Development Department Director, Sheikh Jamaluddin.

The Polish delegation was also briefed on the vision to make the Sultanate a diversified, competitive and sustainable economy and the mission of the ministry which is to accelerate sustainable economic diversification by facilitating, developing and strengthening trade, competitive industries and dynamic entrepreneurs.

The preferred list of economic diversification at current level are Brunei Halal, tourism, primary produce, food and beverages, handicraft, building materials, logistics and furniture.

At the medium-term level, the list includes downstream oil and gas, manufacturing (wood based) as well as alternative renewable energy and development of products from biodiversity.

The Polish delegation was in the country for a two-day visit.
