Paramount Fine Foods, the fastest growing Middle Eastern restaurant in Canada with its headquarters in Mississauga, is quickly crossing international waters.

The halal eatery has already opened 51 locations – 38 in Ontario and 13 in Edmonton, Florida, New York, Beirut, and Dubai.

It’s now set to venture in England and Pakistan.

In three weeks, the restaurant’s president and CEO Mohamad Fakih will get a red carpet welcome in Karachi, Pakistan, where he will be opening the first Paramount eatery of the South Asian region.

“I’m so excited,” said Fakih. “I feel opening in Pakistan is a celebration of the relationship between Paramount and the Pakistani community in Canada.”

Fakih said his company recently signed an agreement with one of its franchisees in Markham to open 30 locations across Pakistan in partnership with Paramount.

In March next year, Paramount will also launch three locations in London, England.

“I’m very proud to take a brand from Mississauga to the world. Usually it’s the opposite. People bring brands here and compete against us in the retail business. For us as a Canadian company started by an immigrant who came here with nothing, now going with global dreams… it’s just amazing and exciting.

“I love my job. I work 20 hours a day, but I keep smiling,” said Fakih.

In the near future, Fakih said Paramount will open more branches in Lebanon, Montreal, Vancouver and Edmonton.

“Imagine we are selling shawarma in Beirut, that’s the proof that the quality presented to Canadians is great and work even in Lebanon,” said Fakih.
