You have no idea what is put in it, and truthfully no one really wants to know, they are just going for the taste and fast food. However, when you hear that they are being sold as ‘Halal’ and contain pork, then this becomes an issue of labelling and should be accountable for in a properly audited Halal industry.

Draft International Halal Standards To Be Tabled At WHF

KUALA LUMPUR, (Bernama) — The Fourth World Halal
Forum, to be held in May, will see the International Halal Integrity
(IHI) Alliance tabling the draft International Halal Standards for
public comment.





IHI Alliance chairman Datuk Seri Sheikh Saleh Abdullah Kamel said
the draft would be endorsed first at the Organisation of the Islamic
Conference (OIC) Standards Committee meeting in April.

National Halal Meat Company in Birmingham, have opened new franchise’s for their product in Tesco and Asda supermarkets. National Halal products, from fresh lamb and mutton to burgers, can be
obtained nationwide, from as far south as Slough west of London to
Bradford Yorkshire in the north of England. Tesco and Asda are now
displaying the National Halal products.

Domino Pizza, have launched a new Halal meat pizza in Birmingham, where there are close to one million Muslims living.

This comes only months after National Halal meats of Birmingham, opened

entered Saudi Arabia, following the signing of a strategic distribution
agreement with locally-based distributor Arabian Trading Supplies (ATS).

Al Islami also confirmed that it would consolidate its presence in
Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Syria, Jordan and

Biodegradable
product manufacturer Green World Biotech Sdn Bhd is investing RM100
million in Penang over the next four years to set up a plant that will
churn out edible containers from cane husks and other agro-based
materials.


In a country that uses styrofoam containers for its take away food practically 3 times a day this could be good news. Let’s just hope the food stalls invest in using them! They should be given some kind of incentive to ‘go green’ with their containers.

Five of South Africa’s halaal certifying authorities have given their
support to a call made last week by the Muslim Judicial Council to
withdraw halaal certificates for products imported from Israel. MJC PRO
Nabeweya Malick told VOC that the boycott will be extended later to the

companies are deemed to be strong Israeli supporters.
