Nestlé investing RM320mil this year

Nestlé managing director Sullivan O’Carrol said a growth area for Nestlé was the export of halal products to Europe. “We started exporting halal products to Europe about a year ago and the uptake has been encouraging,” he said. He added that there was a growing Muslim population in countries such as the Netherlands and Germany.

O’Carrol
said Nestle’s tie-up with established hypermarkets such as Tesco,
Carrefour and Giant would help ensure its products were well
distributed and accessible to consumers globally.

The Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources has appointed Sunlit Advertising Sdn Bhd to manage the
International Halal Products Expo (IHPE) 2009. This year, the IHPE will be held at the International Convention Centre from July 30 to Aug 2. The IHPE is one of MIPR’s efforts in promoting and increasing consumer products to a higher and more
