Arabia tourist land to boost Malaysian economy

developer of Asia’s first “Arabia land” for tourists said Sunday his
new leisure project aims to offer up to a thousand local jobs by next
March.
Up to 850 jobs will be available to locals of the state of Melaka,
where Sheikh Saleh al-Mansour’s first Arab City in Asia is scheduled to
finish contruction early next year, according to the Malaysian-based

The sixth edition of Thaifex – World of Food Asia ended with a bang.
21,101 trade visitors crowded the halls of Thaifex – World of Food Asia
2009, conducting business with the 988 exhibitors from 21 countries/
regions. Some 21% (4,431) of the visitors came from abroad,
representing 104 countries/ regions around the world. The figures are

Faculty, won a silver medal for her product Halal Collagen from
Freshwater Fish Skins.





She said that research to produce halal collagen products from the

Halal Exchange expects to double supplier base

HALAL Exchange, a web-based platform for buyers and suppliers to
showcase their products, expects to double its supplier base in
Malaysia to 200 this year.




At the just-ended MIHAS, major retailer Tesco Stores (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd
came on board to use the exchange platform. The platform enables the
retailer to have a comprehensive global sourcing solution ensuring
visibility to an international base of suppliers and increased
administrative efficiencies for trade processes.





“It provides
us with an industry-leading platform that not only increases our
potential supplier base, but also supports our drive to improve our
internal information processing and deliver increased value to our
