Croatia: Participants from 40 countries at the Halal Business Forum 2022

“Halal and sustainable development” is the central motto of this year’s Halal Business Forum (HBF), which will be held on October 4 and 5, 2022 in Zagreb, at the Westin Hotel, where participants from 40 countries will cover numerous topics of the halal market, from tourism, production, nutrition, standardization, digitization to  banking and finance.

Many foreign experts and representatives have confirmed their participation at the HBF, among which are Abdulla Al Muaini, director of Bpoint from the United Arab Emirates, and Eugene Levterov, director of MHP Saudi Arabia Trading Company where they will talk about opportunities and ways of doing business in the halal markets of the GCC countries.

Zuraimi Jumaat, Vice President of Halal Supply Chain, Mohamed Jinna, president of United World Halal Development (UNWHD) from Singapore and Amnah Shaari, Executive Director of Serunai Commerce Sdn Bhd from Malaysia, will present the market opportunities of Southeast Asian countries. Muhammad Munir Chaudry, president of the Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America (IFANCA), will speak about the US market and halal.

Ihsan Övüt, General Secretary of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC) from Turkey and Yousif Alharbi, Director of the Halal Center at Saudi Food and Drug Authority from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, will introduce the new requirements of halal standards and accreditation to the participants.

During the HBF, numerous business talks (B2B) are planned, and Podravka, AS Holding, Ireks Aroma, Pekar, Clarum, Škoki?, Pik Vrbovec, Croatian Sugar Industry, Dim- Mes, Genox, New Bakery, Poliklinika Glavi?, Magic Cleaner, Verify Halal, Mudro Bioindustry will present their halal products and services.

In addition, the HBF 2022 will be held under the patronage of Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development,  Ministry of Tourism and Sports and Ministry of Agriculture along with the support and partnership of many domestic and international institutions such as the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, the Tourist Board of the City of Zagreb, Advantage Austria, the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK), Islamic Chamber Research and Information Center (ICRIC), Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC), United World Halal Development (UNWHD), World Halal Summit (WHS), HalalFocus, Verify Halal and  many others.
