Malaysia: HDC to Organise Halal Exhibition And Seminar

KUALA LUMPUR, July 18 (Bernama) — The Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC) will be organising the Halal Transformation Programme (HTP) at the end of this month.

The HTP is aimed at creating more halal business opportunities and increase entrepreneurship.

“A value added dimension arising from this (HTP) would be to promote domestic investment in Malaysia through more rigorous industry engagement, and simultaneously, create new sources in regards to human capital and also areas of the Halal business,” the HDC said in a statement Monday.

More than 10,000 visitors are expected to throng the two-day event from July 30-31 at Gambang, Pahang.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak is expected to officiate the event on July 31 and also meet with industry participants and players.

The event highlights sectors like the economy, education and edutainment in the halal industry, with a exhibition of more than 100 booths and a one-day seminar on “Halal Entrepreneurship Transformation Programme”.

The seminar will emphasise halal entrepreneurship training and halal related contract farming.

Several multinationals and government linked companies are expected to share with participants their business knowledge, collaboration experience and production strengths in the halal industry.
