Malaysia: Malaysian International Food & Beverage Trade Fair – 26-28 June 2019

Kuala Lumpur – The 20th Malaysian International Food and Beverage (MIFB 2019) is the Largest F&B Focused Trade event in Malaysia which offers an ideal business matching and networking platform for F&B industry to showcase their products and services at an international level. The event is set to be held on 26 – 28 June 2019 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) and open to trade visitors from 10.30am – 6pm.

MIFB 2019 is expected to be filled at an estimated of 600 participating exhibitors from 50 nations and trade visitors of 20,000 from 70 countries. MIFB 2018 had a trade visitor turnout of 19,980 from 66 nations, which also comprised of some 250 International and Local Buyers who were invited and hosted. The MIFB Business Matching Platform generated 2,651 business connections with an estimated trade value of USD300 million. Overall MIFB 2018 was a successful business networking event with 63% of current exhibitors expressing their interest to come back for the next MIFB series in KL Convention Centre from 26 – 28 June 2019.

“For this year, I have noticed a bigger number of exhibitors have joined especially from the region of China that something our country is looking forward in line with the agreement that we have with the Chinese government to enhance the relationship between the two countries. Furthermore, with the presence and endorsement by Matrade who encourage more Malaysian Merchant Trade and established brands such as QSR Brands who is also looking for an international market.” said Datuk Zulkefli Haji Sharif, the Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau said

The food and beverage business in Malaysia has always been in the sights of their government. Whether from agriculture, manufacturing, logistics, processing to dine in, agencies under government initiative have been booming in order to boost the economy and income.

“Malaysia needs to mould modern and competitive entrepreneurs in the agricultural and food and beverage sector,” says Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Datuk Salahuddin Ayub.

Creating partnerships is also vital to an entrepreneur’s success as the person might need assistance and training in doing business, including creating business models, adopting modern techniques and bringing their products to the market.

“We hope our local farmers, fishermen and breeders realise the huge potential that lies within them. We believe…that they can improve their income and also improve the livelihood of others through their businesses,” added Datuk Salahuddin Ayub.

MIFB 2019 offers products and services ranging from F&B Natural and Healthy Produce, Food Technology, Seafood and Fishery, as well as Halal Food. Natural and Healthy Produce showcase will bring in F&B providers, industrial experts, innovators to offer a plethora of products and services under one roof and work in line to grow Malaysia’s trade.  It will be an ideal platform for companies serving the F&B industry and is constantly finding innovative ways to improve and cater their products to the community with the healthy living vision.
