Pakistan: Launching Halal Food accreditation scheme

Flag_of_Pakistan.svgISLAMABAD, Jul 23 (APP):  Minister for Science and Technology Zahid Hamid lauded the role of PNAC for launching of Halal Food accrediation scheme and said that it will increase the demand of Pakistanis products not only at local level but also in the muslim countries. Director General, PNAC Khalid Muhamad here on monday briefed the minister about the importance and role of the Pakistan National Accrediation Council (PNAC) in the WTO regime. He explained the minister about the activities of PNAC and its International recognition by having mutual recognition arrangement with International and regional Organizations and the benifits for the accrediated organization.
The Federal Minister appriciated the role of Pakistan National Accrediation Council (PNAC) and said that in this globalize world the importance of standard and quality of products increased many times to compete in the international market.
Zahid Hamid urged that necessarry steps be taken to accredit the medical Laboratries.
He emphasizad to enhance the capicity of PNAC by necessarry trainings and its participation in the obligatory meeting.
Federal Seceratry Akhlaq Ahmed Tarrar was also present on the occasion,who also apprised the minister about the importance of the role of PNAC as a National Accrediation Body.
