We are pleased to inform you that the Halal Food Authority in collaboration with the Emirates International Accreditation Centre (EIAC), UAE will be organizing the Halal Academy Training on ‘Gulf Halal Standards’ as follows:
Date: Wednesday, 2nd May 2018 Time: 2pm – 6pm
Venue: The Marriott Hotel, Regents Park, London NW3
(HHIC 2018 shall also take place at the same venue on 3rd May 2018)
This training workshop shall cover the requirements and implementation of the following halal standards in food processing:
GSO 2055-1: Requirements for Halal Food Production
OIC/SMIIC-1: Requirements for Halal Food Production
GSO.S.993: Requirements of Animal Slaughtering
The main objective of this training is to provide participants with a better understanding on the importance of the requirements of halal food production.
More specifically both GSO 2055-1 and OIC/SMIIC-1 standards define the general requirements for Halal food that shall be followed at any stage of Halal food chain including, receiving, preparation, packaging, labelling, handling, transportation, distributing, storage, displaying and Halal food services.
The GSO.S.993 standard sets out the general requirements for animal slaughtering according to Islamic Law.
At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
* Describe the general requirements for halal food production in compliance
with Gulf standards
* Understand the requirements and set up halal assurance system in line with
* Have knowledge about the animal slaughtering requirements according to
* Have knowledge about principles of food hygiene and safety for Gulf markets
