UK: HFA appoints new interim CEO as Saqib Mohammed departs

Halal Food Authority (HFA) announces that Saqib Mohammed, Chief Executive Officer, has decided to move on from the organisation to relocate to Dubai. As a result, the Board are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Amir Masoom as its interim Chief Executive to lead the HFA.

“Saqib has played an invaluable role of the development of HFA over the past thirteen years and his commitment to improving the standard and quality of Halal certification both here in the UK and abroad has been truly outstanding” stated the Chair of Trustees, Dr Abdul Matin Khan.

He continued “We wish him well in his new role as Operations Director at a consultancy business involved in regulatory affairs in Dubai. We welcome Amir and wish him well in his post.”

“I am looking forward to this new challenge and continuing to maintain HFA’s position as a leader in the field” said Amir, who has been working as a senior Technical Auditor at the HFA since 2013.

Saqib commented, “I am pleased to have led the HFA over the recent years, and I thank the HFA Board and the entire team for their efforts and support in collectively bringing the HFA to its current state of exemplary quality and prominence. Furthermore, I want to congratulate Dr Amir Masoom, and wish him all the best for the future”.

The new appointment shall come into effect on 16 th March 2019 following Saqib’s departure on this day.
