DUBAI, 18th October, 2013 (WAM)–Dubai continues to drive forward as the global hub for Halal Trade hosting International Halal manufacturers, supply chain & logistics leaders for The 3rd Global Halal Trade, Logistics Summit , which will kick start at The Shangri-La Hotel from 22nd to 23rd October 2013.
Gathering governments, manufacturers across F&B, Pharmaceuticals, Cosmetics & Ingredients, retail, supply chain and logistics leaders from Africa, Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe & the Middle East the programme will address the harmonisation of global Halal standards across manufacturing, supply chain & logistics to assure integrity of products to consumers around the world.
Opening Keynote address will be given by Secretary-General of OIC s Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC) Haluk Dag on the importance of Standardisation and the harmonisation of Standards for supply chain & logistics followed by CEO, Dubai Export Development Corporation on promoting Islamic Trade.
The interactive programme hosts 20 leading international speakers who will discuss key topics on harmonising Global Halal Trade, Supply Chain & Logistics. The Global Halal Industry is estimated to be worth about US$2.3 trillion. Major MNC s such as Nestle, Mars Foods & KFC are now insisting that their supply chains & logistics providers are globally Halal compliant to provide international assurance to consumers of product integrity in Muslim and non-Muslim countries alike. Globally MNC s and SME s can no longer afford to ignore the halal integrity of their supply chain & logistics suppliers and have to take responsibility for their products integrity from farm to factory to fork.
