An innovative new Halal restaurant finding app has launched a digital loyalty app on Android and iPhone for the very first time and hopes to transform the lives of 427 million Muslims by making great halal dining options more visible and rewarding to consumers.
Hotly anticipated, The Halal Dining Club is the first app to allow users to find, book, review and earn rewards from halal friendly restaurants whilst also having a social impact. Every time a user interacts with the platform, points are awarded and the monetary equivalent is donated to charitable causes including Human Appeal and Penny Appeal.
The Halal Dining Club app on Android reached the top of the Playstore in June 2017 and was also a trending app. But the team at Halal Dining Club wanted to do more:
“There are an increasing number of halal restaurants out there but often diners are unable to find them. We have created a platform that makes these restaurants visible to hungry halal diners but also allows restaurants to market directly to this fast growing and increasingly affluent halal dining consumer. At the same time, we reward our app users by allowing them to earn cashback from participating merchants as well as earning charity points for leaving reviews.”
Siddika Jaffer was encouraged to launch the platform after becoming increasingly frustrated with the lack of halal food options:
Siddika says, “The halal market is huge and yet if you are Muslim diner finding a great halal restaurant isn’t easy and more often than not you are stuck with the salad option. We want to transform this and have as big an impact on halal dining as JustEat and Deliveroo are having on the mainstream dining experience”.
With global Halal consumer spending expected to rise to $2.6 trillion by 2020 and the UK Muslim population reported to have risen to over 3 million for the first time (doubling in just over a decade), there is a big opportunity for restaurants keen to tap into the Halal market.
Siddika adds “It was important to us to cater for the needs of halal diners, restaurant owners as well as those who don’t have access to food and clean water with each community connected together through our app.”
The Halal Dining Club launched in 2016 with £200k crowdfunding investment and is backed by business heavyweights Arnie Sriskandarajah (Forbes 30 under 30) and Ash Ali (Just Eats’ first Marketing Director).
The loyalty feature has originally launched for audiences in the UK and Singapore with plans for other cities in the US and Canada coming soon.
