Latest Malaysian Innovative Products Set To Capture Global Market

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 19
(Bernama) — Two of the latest Malaysian-made products, the halal
vegetable cheese and environmental-friendly bio-ray multiple board
showcased at the International Trade Malaysia 2009 (INTRADE 2009) have
captured strong attention from international buyers.

The halal vegetable cheese, which is produced from palm oil and
marketed under the D’Qisra brand name is manufactured by D’Qisra Sdn
Bhd.

According to its managing director, Effendy Yusof, the halal
vegetable cheese is the first ever produced in Malaysia after an
extensive research and development was completed in April this year.

Effendy said the product had its first market trial in May and now
it is being distributed locally through Mydin stores and other retails
outlets such as bakeries and mini-markets.

D’Qisra is expected to increase its monthly production to 50 tons
from a mere 1.5 tons to meet the needs of the domestic market.

“The latest statistics on Malaysia’s import of cheese annually
amounts to about RM1.2 billion. This is just an indicator of the
tremendous potential in the domestic market,” he said.
