Hon. Ustaz Marzuki Hassan, Director of Malaysia Halal Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM) and Hon. Vice President of Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Malaysia (CILT), Ts Dr. Othman bin Ibrahim jointly witnessed the signing ceremony. Hon. Deputy Vice Chancellor of UiTM, Prof Dr, Mohamad Hariri Abdullah and Founder of HFA, Mr Aizuddinur bin Zakaria singed the MoU on behalf of their respective parties.
The major thrust of the MoU is to promote international cooperation between UiTM and HFA in various fields such as Halal supply chain eco-system and capacity development programme.
The MoU aims at promoting international cooperation on promoting local Halal talent, exchange people-to-people and capacity development program in Europe and Africa. The MoU seeks to strengthen cooperation in Halal sectors including development of halal supply chain eco-system and market expansion program.
Great importance is attached to trainings and capacity building activities within SMIIC and Launching of the International Certificate of Halal Supply Chain. In this regard it is a very significant initiative. The use of OIC/SMIIC standards further raises awareness on the importance of common standards.
The ceremony also witnessed the awarding of Professional Halal Executive certificate, JAKIM accredited course and Certificate in Halal Supply Chain to 47 UiTM final year students who have successfully completed the courses under the KPT-PACE initiative.
