MINSK (BelTA) – Grodno Meat-Packing Plant and Rastelli Foods Group of the United States will begin deliveries of beef to the U.A.E. in 2016, BelTA learned from spokeswoman for the Belarusian Minsitry of Agriculture and Food Zinaida Bereshchenko.
“Shipments will start once the company completes the certification of halal products and will pass the verification inspection. According to the preliminary data, shipments will begin no later than the end of the spring. Grodno Meat-Packing Plant will export beef and beef products such as steaks, uncooked smoked sausages,” Zinaida Bereshchenko said. The contract provides for the supplies worth $50 million over the next 4 years.
Cooperation with Rastelli involves delivery of meat products to other countries in the Middle East. Export of Belarusian milk may be discussed in the future.
Grodno Meat-Packing Plant and Rastelli Foods signed an agreement on joint work to promote Belarusian beef products to the markets of third countries. Over a short term of time the two partners jointly designed new types of products made from raw and cooked beef for third markets.
Rastelli Foods Group supplies products to some 80 countries. It is a large beef processing company. Rastelli Foods Group operates four meat processing plants and a trade and logistics center. Its annual output exceeds $1.2 billion.
Grodno Meat-Packing Plant is Belarus’ largest processing plant manufacturing more than 450 types of products.
