Turkish
State Minister for foreign trade Kursad Tuzmen has held separate
meetings with Iranian Agriculture Minister Mohammed Reza Eskandari and
Petroleum Minister Qolam Hosein Nozari in Tehran.
At the meeting with Eskandari, Tuzmen said that Turkey and Iran should increase agricultural trade.
Tuzmen said the two countries could work together in halal food.
Tuzmen’s proposal was welcomed by Iranian minister Eskandari who said global demand on halal food was rising.
At
his meeting with Nozari, Tuzmen said oil and natural gas trade was a
significant part of 10 billion USD of trade volume between Turkey and
Iran. Turkey’s oil and gas imports from Iran reached 7 billion USD last
year, Tuzmen said.
