DUBAI (Zawya Dow Jones)–Dubai-based Limitless, the development arm
of Dubai World, said Monday it will develop a 1,115 hectare mixed-use
Halal center in Malaysia in partnership with a Malaysian investment
group of Mihap Holdings and Perbadanan Kemajuan Pertanian Selangor.
The project, the world’s first fully integrated Halal center, will turn
Malaysia into a global gateway for the industry’s trading, services and
knowledge, Limitless said in a statement, without revealing the value
of the development.
Located 40 kilometers from Kuala Lumpur, the center will include more
than 800 hectares of residential units, food manufacturing plants,
logistics ports, training and research centers, offices, as well as
entertainment and retail facilities, all of which will comply with
Halal principles.
The center is Limitless’ second project in Malaysia.
The company currently has projects worth more than $100 billion in five countries.
It has set up two subsidiaries in Hong Kong and Shanghai, and has established a regional headquarters in Singapore.
