MINSK, 24 February (BelTA) – More than 60 Belarusian companies have Halal certificates and may supply goods to the Persian Gulf countries, Chairman of the State Committee for Standardization of Belarus (Gosstandart) Valentin Tataritsky said at the outcome meeting of the collegium of the committee on 24 February, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian national accreditation system has been recognized by international accreditation organizations ILAC and IAF in eight areas (testing, calibration, medical research, certification of products, personnel, management systems, inspection, and proficiency testing).
“Based on the recognition by international accreditation organizations ILAC and IAF, recognition has been achieved in a sectoral area such as certification of Halal products. An accredited Halal certification body operates in Belarus. Now more than 60 companies have the right to supply Belarusian products to the UAE and other states of the Persian Gulf,” said Valentin Tataritsky.
