Pakistan – Nov 21, 2009 – HIRC Pakistan has joined the National Technical Committee for Pakistan Halal Standards which is being promoted by Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA). Recently Govt of Pakistan has taken the leap into development of Halal Standards in the country to benefit from the rapidly growing Halal foods market internationally.
”Inorder to benefit the $1 Trillion dollar Halal industry, National Halal Standards for Pakistan are critical,” says Mr Raheel Iqbal, Partner at HIRC Pakistan. He also said that ”Becoming a part of National Halal Standards Committee is a great achievement for HIRC, Pakistan’s first Halal certification and assurance service provider, as it will represent the needs of the relevant stakeholders.”
Govt of Pakistan recently has taken several initiatives to boost its Halal food trade. HIRC is supporting such initiatives by providing cost effective Halal certification, sponsoring research opportunities and creating employment opportunities.
