KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 30 (Bernama) — Halal food and beverages group, Brahim’s Holdings Bhd, expects the acquisition of the remaining 49 per cent stake in Brahim’s-LSG Sky Chefs Holdings Bhd to be completed before year-end.
Executive Chairman Datuk Ibrahim Ahmad Badawi said the acquisition process was currently in the final stage.
Brahim’s Holdings owns 51 per cent stake in Brahim’s-LSG Sky Chefs.
“Upon completion of the acquisition, Brahim’s and its partner Malaysia Airlines would have fully Malaysianised the operating of the world’s largest halal flight kitchen.
“This is in line with the national aspiration of positioning the aviation food services sector as a wholly Malaysian-owned business in order to explore opportunities in this growing niche market,” he told reporters after the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Brahim’s Holdings and Standard Chartered Bank, here Friday.
