Kuala Lumpur – The OIC International Business Centre in cooperation with the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT), a subsidiary organ of OIC and Association of Muslim World Business Malaysia, will be staging the 5th OIC World BIZ & Muslim World BIZ event.
The event, entitled ‘Business and Investment Zone’ will be held on the November 10th – 14th, 2014 at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
With its theme ‘Towards Excellent Global Economies’ the event is recognized as one of the most efficient and powerful Muslim World trade platform attracting participants from all over the world. It is expected that this year, 7 halls of the PWTC – of which 4 halls will be designated for trade exhibitions – and 3 halls will be booked for forums and conferences.
At the exhibition halls there will be a total of 1,200 booths displaying products and services of trade, education and tourism industries from over 50 countries. We will be expecting thousands of trade visitors mainly from various members of trade chambers and business organizations worldwide. Several countries are sending delegates and participants from Iran, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Japan, China, Kuwait, South Korea, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, South Africa, Uganda, Kenya and Nigeria to name a few.
To kick off the event, the inaugural ROUND TABLE TALK 2014 of ‘Movers and Shakers’ of the Muslim World Economy will congregate at Hall A, Tun Dr. Ismail PWTC on November 10th, 2014. Prominent corporate leaders and personalities such as YABhg Datin Paduka Rosmah Mansor (Wife of Malaysian Prime Minister), Dato’ Siti Nurhaliza (Popular Malaysian Artist and Businesswoman) and YBhg Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Hamad Kama Piah Bin Che Othman (President and Group CEO of Permodalan Nasional Berhad). Amongst the foreigners invited to speak at the session will be H.E. Iyad Amin Madani (Secretary-General of OIC) and Dato’ Shah Rukh Khan (Bollywood Celebrity) which is yet to be confirmed. Some 200 exclusive business leaders from all over the world will be joining the Round Table Talk 2014.
From the November 10th – 11th, 2014, the 3RD OIC HIGHER EDUCATION CONFERENCE will be held at Hall B Tun Dr. Ismail PWTC with participation of delegates from over 20 countries. Academicians and higher education experts are among the panelist of speakers which include Tan Sri Anuar Ali (Vice Chancellor of Open University Malaysia), Professor Datuk Dr Syed Othman Alhabshee (CAO of the Global Universities for Islamic Finance), Professor Dato’ Sri Zaleha Kamaruddin (Rector of the International Islamic University Malaysia) and Professor Dato Dr Muhamad Rasat (President of Multimedia University Malaysia). The Minister of Education 2 Malaysia YB Dato’ Seri Idris Jusoh will launch the conference.
On the second day, 3RD OIC-ASIA TRADE AND ECONOMIC FORUM 2014 will be held from November 11th to 12th, 2014 at Tun Hussein Onn Hall A & B. Prominent figures from OIC countries and Asia will be presenting and discussing issues on opportunities, bilateral trade and investment between OIC member countries and Asia. The Minister of International Trade and Industry Malaysia YB Dato’ Seri Mustapha Mohammad will be officiating this Forum.
The Grand Opening Ceremony on the November 11th, 2014 at Merdeka Hall PWTC will be launched by YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Razak the Prime Minister of Malaysia. The Gala Luncheon will incorporate the presentation of the prestigious award – THE JEWELS OF MUSLIM WORLD AWARD 2014 of which 10 prominent figures of the Muslim World are amongst the recipients. About 600 invited guests are expected to attend this auspicious occasion.
THE 3RD WORLD ISLAMIC TOURISM CONFERENCE from the November 11th – 12th, 2014 will be officiated by the Minister of Tourism Malaysia YB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Nazri bin Abdul Aziz at Tun Ismail A PWTC. Amongst the speakers are Mr.Fazal Bahardeen (CEO of Crescent Rating Singapore), Mr.Zoltan Somogyi (Executive Director of World Tourism Organization UNWTO) and Mr.Anura Lokuhetty (President of the Tourist Hotels Association of Sri Lanka). Some 400 delegates from 25 countries will be attending the conference.
The whole event which comprises of 7 components – 3 exclusive shows (Trade, Education and Tourism), 4 Forums and Conferences (Trade & Economy, Higher Education, Islamic Tourism and Round Table Talk.) The highlights will be the award ceremony of The Jewels of Muslim World Award 2014 which will be held during the official opening ceremony/gala luncheon.
It is expected that there will be some 80,000 visitors from various industries throughout the 4 day event. The exhibition halls open from 10am to 7pm and the Conference sessions starts at 9am – 5pm.
The event is racing up to eventually be the biggest Muslim trade exhibition by year 2020 with more participants and representation from many countries other than the OIC member countries.
