Discover Revolutionary Products and Technologies

SFFA’s successful investor pitching series returns for its second year rebranded as PITCH!. The ‘Shark Tank’ style series will see 10 shortlisted companies battle it out as they live-pitch their ideas to a panel of judges comprising F&B owners, retailers, hoteliers and investors, for real-time feedback, prize money and a free stand at SFFA and RPB Asia 2020. This year, the series returns with two different tracks – the first focuses on technology innovations and solutions, and the second centres on sustainable solutions – that have potential to revolutionise the hospitality and foodservice industries.

Shortlisted start-up ideas showcase the unique synergies between technology and the food and drink industry and include: Blue Planet Ecosystems – a land-based automatic recirculating aquaculture system, DRNK (Omniaz) – a detailed traceability platform with RFID bottles, Winnow – a food waste optimisation system that utilises cloud analytics and Appsels – a scan and order solution that helps businesses overcome manpower issues.

The judging panel features industry leaders who are well placed to provide valuable insights and potential funding to these aspiring entrepreneurs. Judges include Adam Flinter, Managing Partner, Golden Equator Consulting, Lance Frey, Chief Financial Officer, Boost, Christian Cadeo, Managing Partner, Big Idea Ventures, Loh Lik Peng, Director, Unlisted Collection, Andrew Ing, Chief Operating Officer, The Lo & Behold Group and keynote speaker Varun Deshpande, Managing Director for India, Good Food Institute.

Asia Food Innovation Awards

Organised in association with FoodBev Media is the second annual Asia Food Innovation Awards – the Asian edition of the UK-based Innovation Awards, designed to recognise and reward excellence in food industry innovation, from manufacturing to ingredients, packaging and finished products. Winners of the Asia Food Innovation Awards will be unveiled at SFFA and RPB Asia at Centre Stage on 18 July 2019.

Catch Acclaimed Chefs in Action

Fine Food Live

Fine Food Live, a core component of SFFA, is an inspirational demo theatre intended for visitors to keep up to date with the latest culinary trends through chef demos and panel discussions. This year, the demo sessions will be centred around the themes of sustainability, provenance and seasonal flavours with Singapore’s traditional food and hawker heritage taking centre stage on the first day of Fine Food Live.

Panel sessions featuring prominent artisanal producers and local food champions such as Claire Ariela Shen of Cooking Art Industries, Nizam Iskandar and Aisha Hashim of Haig Road Putu Piring and Jeremy Nguee of Preparazzi and Batu Lesung will focus on the future, challenges and longevity of the industry. In a separate session, Industry Ambassador, Chef Edmund Toh, President, Disciples Escoffier International – Singapore Delegation and Vice President, Culinary, Iron Chef F&B Pte Ltd, will also take the stage to conduct a special demonstration on local heritage food. Visitors can also catch Chef Javed Ahamad from Punjab Grill in action at the show as he whips up a few of his signature dishes using the popular Impossible Foods’ plant-based products.

For the first time, SFFA and RPB Asia will also work with World Gourmet Summit (WGS) – the region’s premier haute cuisine festival – to curate two days of interactive programming on 18 and 19 July. This sets the stage for prominent local chefs to bring their A-game through interactive guest chef demos in an exciting WGS Gastronomic Adventure around the world.
