Its founder and managing director, Datuk Ramly Mokni received the award from International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed at the World Halal Week Appreciation Dinner here last night.
Presented annually, the award is given to individuals or organisations that have greatly contributed and achieved high standards in the halal industry.
Ramly Group, which manufacturers halal, clean and high quality meat-based products such as beef, chicken and seafood, earns an annual revenue of RM2 billion.
The group exports its products to six countries, namely Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Bangladesh.
Organised by the Halal Industry Development Corporation, the World Halal Conference is held in the capital from March 30 to 31, while the World Halal Week 2016 from March 28 to April 2.
