FOOD producers and exporters were advised to
implement correct marketing strategies in order to capture a share of
the huge global halal trade estimated between $580 billion to $1.2
trillion at a recent National Halal Conference in the Philippines.
To effectively capture the halal markets, they were told they must understand the Muslim consumers’ religious
needs and behavior, food purchase and consumption pattern.

This shows once again the Halal consumer has the potential to influence the way this market moves. Halal Consumers need to know they have a say in the quality and quantity of Halal products on the shelf.

Organic is Halal – The first muslim shirt company to go green?

Here is another small Halal business venture going out to the Halal consumers, in the US this time. It also comes under the banner of ‘ethical’ which we think that more and more Halal should be connected to. Afterall, if it isn’t ethical how can it really be Halal? Halal and Healthy? Even the GCC is prohibiting that claim in its Halal standard, but ethical fits the bill.

Brunei’s Road to Diversification

Blogs are key to keeping people up to speed with public opinion and Brunei is no different with its drive for Halal Branding and certification. We hope the question this woman on her blog is asking  about ‘Halal branding’ in Brunei will be answered or addressed at the International Halal Market Conference being held in Brunei on the 16-17 August.

Governments must be sure the vision they are planning in a conference room is also presented clearly to their citizens who they hope are going to benefit from it. This also applies to Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, etc. We hope that this woman and more like her come to the IHMC to assist Brunei’s vision for a new Halal economy to be realised.

Chocolate Products of Australia has released a new cake topping range under the Nemar brand.

The Australians have figured out that getting Halal Certification for products that they produce is very beneficial to their sales. Of course we have the Halal Aussie beef and lamb but there are many many other products coming out of Australia that have nothing to do with the Halal meat sector that have added Halal certification to their label. Changing over to natural colouring is brilliant for all those parents with hyper active children. Good business sense that was also driven by the consumer!
