in collaboration with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations’
secretariat.
The Ministry of Livestock and Dairy Development is

meat, seafood, bakery, drink and food safety technologies, said an

Population of the Muslim world exceeds 2
billion and a sizeable Muslim population lives in Asia and Africa. They
prefer to use halal food and there is increasing awareness among Muslim
consumers on halal food technology. Many ASEAN countries have taken
bold initiatives and lead in the production and processing of halal
foods.
Pakistan, with 98 per cent Muslims in its population of
160 million people, along with being an agro economy, has enormous
potential in the production and promotion of halal food technology. The
Government of Pakistan desires to benefit from the rich experience,
knowledge and expertise of ASEAN countries in halal food technology. |
