Why did you choose India for HALAL EXPO? What’s your plan in taking India to the next level when it comes to the Halal industry?

  • India has the world’s third largest Muslim population at more than 180 million, and presents huge market opportunities for halal-based entrepreneurs. In India, the halal industry is predominantly linked to the consumption of halal  With only a handful of companies involved in selling halal personal care products, the industry is clearly an untapped segment within the highly competitive FMCG market in India. The cosmetics and personal care industry is among the fastest growing consumer products segment in India, throwing up huge opportunities for international companies.A market outlook report by the Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) estimates that India’s grooming and cosmetic industry will grow to US$35 billion by 2035 from US$6.5 billion in 2017.
  • I am extremely ambitious when it comes to India and Halal Industry. We are also concerned about the quality of our Halal Certification – offering it to the world without losing credibility. Because when you want to standardize, you want to make it quick and easy but at the same time to do these without compromising quality.

There is also an agenda to unify Halal Certification globally which we are currently pursuing. It’s not easy because every country wants to preserve their own identity.

Throw some Light on the Halal Expo organized globally?

While Halal Expo is the first event of its kind in India, countries such as AustraliaSpainthe United KingdomFrancethe UAETaiwanJapan and Korea have been hosting halal trade shows for years.
