KLANG: Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd (F&N) expects to double its dairy exports to RM400mil in five years with the new manufacturing plant in Pulau Indah.
“Plans are underway to double our current exports from the 20% of F&N Dairies Malaysia total output within the next five years.
“Our strategic location within the Selangor Halal Hub will also provide additional thrust to widen our penetration to the global halal markets, which offers exponential growth opportunities with its two billion consumers,” said chief executive officer Somsak Chayapong at the official opening of the Pulau Indah manufacturing plant.
F&N Dairies Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a unit of F&N, currently exports between RM150mil and RM200mil of its total output.
The Pulau Indah plant is F&N’s second dairy plant. Its first was the F&N Dairies Thailand in Rojana, which began operations in 2009.
The new plant, which began production in April 2012, has increased F&N Dairies Malaysia’s capacity by almost 30%, to about 500 million cans per annum. It also produces 5.4 million litres of sterilised milk annually.
